Water Quality

Water Quality Monitoring of both raw and treated water is undertaken throughout the treatment process to analyze their physical, chemical and bacteriological properties. To do this samples are taken at different times and locations in the system.

Hourly samples are taken at the treatment plants and tested for turbidity, color, pH, mineral content, hardness, electrical conductivity and other parameters.

Daily samples are taken from various sampling points within the distribution network and  subjected to bacteriological testing as well as analysis for chlorine content and other parameters.

Test results are evaluated against World Health Organization guidelines for drinking water. Copies of the test results are submitted to the Ministry of Health and the Public Utilities Commission.
